Getting involved in the creation of commissioned artwork since it is a fantastic way to be part of the fulfilling and imaginative experience of the artistic process. If you would like to know more about it, please read the process description below.
Process for Commissioned Artwork
Initial Inquiry:
Contact the artist with a brief description of your desired artwork and size.
Consultation:
Meeting to discuss project details, the artist’s process and timeline.
Estimated time: 1 month for medium and large scale paintings
Agreement and Contract:
Receive a quotation and agree on the price and payment terms. The cost of the sketches is non-refundable. The collector keeps all the sketches at the end of the process.
Sign a contract covering all project specifics. The project will start once the contract is signed and the deposit of 40% is paid. An example of the contract can be seen in this link.
Concept Development:
The artist will make 3 sketches in A4 size.
Review initial sketches, select and provide feedback.
Creation:
Receive regular progress updates from the artist.
Request minor adjustments if necessary.
Completion and Approval:
Review the completed artwork and request final tweaks if needed.
Approve the final piece.
Delivery and Payment:
Complete any remaining payments.
Arrange for the artwork’s delivery or pickup.
Artworks do not include framing nor installation. The artworks will be shipped rolled in a cardboard tube without the frame or with the frame in a box. The collector and the artist will agree on the best delivery option.
Post-Completion:
Provide feedback and a testimonial on the social networks.
Follow care instructions for maintaining the artwork.
Copyright:
- The Artist retains copyright of the artwork.
The Client receives a non-exclusive license to display the artwork for personal use. Any commercial use or reproduction of the artwork requires the Artist's written consent.
