Leticia is inspired by sketching while travelling in places such as Patagonia in her home country, Argentina and Norway where she is based. Her artwork captures the essence of organic forms, with lines and textures that evoke a sense of ease and contemplation. Each piece is a conversation between the artist and the natural world. She blends intuitive mark-making and natural shapes creating vivid washes of color and interconnectedness with the landscapes around her.
After earning a degree in fine art in Madrid, she spent a year in Berlin on an Erasmus scholarship at the University of the Arts. Later, she studied art education in New York under the Fulbright scholarship. She works as an artist and art educator in Norway. You can find Leticia's work in private collections across Europe. She has participated in several exhibitions in Norway, Spain, Germany, the US, and Argentina. You can follow her daily progress on Instagram and her blog.
STATEMENT
My landscape painting is an invitation to reflect on our interconnectedness and impermanence with Nature and the impact of climate change. I make drawings collecting notes of territories as a meditative walk. Then I work on studio paintings reinterpreting the lines, directions, and landscape structure. I observe the impermanence, the infinitude, and the silence of glaciers, rivers, lakes, and the Ocean. In my artworks, I record the movement of these bodies of water and their atmospheres. Each series seeks to visualize the eco that resonates in me as I live between these territories.
